And it shouldn't be reviewed with equal standards. Now, in all fairness, this film's subject isn't as serious as let's say, The DaVinci Code. And their silence in the theatre proves it. But come on, the child movie audience of today is much smarter than this. Okay, the attention span of a child, I get it. It also reduces the film into quick cut montages, leaving no room for a point to the story. Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties takes all the fun out of the Big Fat Cat and replaces it with potty humor that seems to be an afterthought perhaps only after initial screenings produced extreme boredom and narcolepsy. When all the children at the movie theatre with their great big smiles and their gigantic handfuls of Milk Duds and popcorn butter look as if they're being transformed into adults with tax problems right before your very eyes, then you know something's not quite right.
